ABOUT WAYZATA HOCKEY CLINICS

thumbnail_LES_8926_edited.jpg

Wayzata Hockey Clinics are under the direction of Pat O’Leary, Wayzata High School Varsity Hockey Coach. Wayzata Hockey Clinics are affiliated with the WYHA. The summer clinics are open only to players registered with the WYHA with the exception of the Mite and Squirt Summer Development Program.

The “STP” program, which follows the guidelines set forth by Minnesota Hockey, is offered, staffed, and run by the Wayzata High School Boys and Girls Hockey Head Coaches during the off season.

WYHA has made a commitment to offer clinics to its registered players at an affordable price utilizing top-notch instructors. The PDC endorses and recommends these clinics to registered players of the WYHA.

Due to the large number of players in the WYHA, registered players are not guaranteed registration in offered clinics.

WHAT DO WE PROVIDE?

We offer clinics from Mites to High School. Mite, Squirt, Girls U10, and U12 levels emphasize skill development. The programs for the Girls U15, Peewee, Bantam, and High School levels provide a more systematic plan for the development of technical, tactical, and physical hockey skills.

WHY WAYZATA HOCKEY CLINICS?

These clinics reflect the philosophy of the Wayzata High School Coaching Staff. Emphasis is placed on skill development (skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting). Moreover, there is a consistent system of play throughout all levels to ensure that all players are exposed to the same basic system.
