Kurt Davis has been an instructor, specializing in defense, for the Wayzata Hockey Clinics the past 8 years.  He is currently playing his first season with Södertälje in the HockeyAllsvenskan league in Sweden.

As a Maverick: Four-year letter winner was a two-time All-WCHA pick...21-75--96 in 150 career games to rank third on MSU’s career scoring by defensemen list. Davis also ranks as MSU’s all-time top-scoring defenseman for MSU’s NCAA Division I era and completed his career ranking tenth on the school’s overall all-time chart for scoring during the DI era...Led the Mavericks in scoring twice in his four year’s with the programs (2010-11 and 2008-09). Three-time WCHA Defensive Player of the Week over the course of his career.  Voted MVP 2010-2011.

2010-2011 - Senior Season At Minnesota State University, Mankato (Div. 1):  All-WCHA Third Team  selection, led Minnesota State in scoring with 9-18--27, and Voted team Most Valuable Player.  He led the Mavericks with 18 assists, led all MSU defensemen and ranked third on the team in shots on goal with 113.  Kurt was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week as MSU earned three points in a tie and win at St. Cloud State Jan.

2009-2010 - Junior Season at Minnesota State University, Mankato (Div.1):  Kurt played in games in 2009-2010.  He was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season, contributed 5-18 -- 23pts and finished +5 on the year tied for second on the team.  He enters 2010-2011 tied for tenth on MSU's career scoring list by defensemen.

2008-2009 - Sophomore Season at Minnesota State University, Mankato (Div.1):  Kurt saw action in all 38 games in 2008-2009.  He started the season with a 14-game scoring streak and ranks 12th amongst the nation's defensemen with a 0.82 ppg mark.  Kurt finished the season tied for the lead in scoring.  His 31 points tied for 10th on MSU's all time single-season defensemen scoring list and are the most by a Maverick rearguard during the NCAA Division 1 era.

2007-2008 – Freshman Season at Minnesota State University, Mankato (Div. 1): Kurt played in 36 of 39 games (25 of 28 WCHA contests) and ranked first amongst MSU defenseman and 10th in team scoring charts with 1-14--15 in his freshman season. He collected his first career point and multi-point game with two assists in the 7-0 win at Alabama Huntsville (11/2/07). He tallied his first career goal in the 2-2 tie with Minnesota Duluth (11/30/07).

Kurt is coached by  head coach Troy Jutting (2007-08 WCHA Coach of the year) and earned his first collegiate letter.

2005-2007:  Kurt competed two years of junior hockey with the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League (USHL) under head coach Mark Mazzoleni.  He was named USHL Defensive Player of the Week December 4, 2006 (one goal and one assist in weekend one-goal losses against Sioux Falls).  He received the honor again March 12, 2007 following a three-point weekend (2 goales, one assist) in weekend sweep against Sioux City.  He received runner-up honors to the Defensive Player of the Week Award several times.

Prior to his trade to Green Bay in November, 2005, Kurt played for the Waterloo Blackhawks, also in the USHL.

2002-2005:  Kurt is a 2005 Graduate of Wayzata High School where he played three seasons of varsity high school hockey under head coach Carl Davis.  In his senior year, Kurt had totals of 12-30-42, and was named All-State Honorable Mention, All-Metro team, and All-Conference honors. His team also voted him Best Defensive player. 

In his junior year, Kurt led his team to the MN State High School Hockey Tournament, which finished in fourth place, again earning All-Conference honors.  Kurt describes himself as a “"steady two-ay defenseman." He was a three year letter-winner with a career totals of 21-63-84 in 84 games, and the leading scorer by defensemen all three years.  Kurt also played three years of varsity baseball at Wayzata High School. 

Off the Ice:  When he is not playing hockey, he loves to play baseball. He also enjoys playing poker and fishing.
